If someone has time to help me with an issue using Sketchup, please respond or give me a call.
I am new to this and have done some models in Sketchup. None of them will “Export STL”.
However, I have downloaded from the Extension Warehouse the Sketchup STL extension.
When I do the Export STL to my folder all I get is a .skb file about 1.1 Mb and a Certificate Trust List about 1 Kb.
Is there some other extension “add in” that I should use or install??
Ed
The .skb file is a sketchup autosave backup, and the “certificate trust list” file is the STL file. Windows incorrectly identifies it as a certificate trust list because of the filename. Take that file and load it into the slicer, it will work fine.
Thanks for the reply.
The slicer did not even see the STL file, as it was only 1 Kb in size. The 3d printing service provider gave it a try and without any luck. He sent me back to the drawing board to export a useable STL file.

Another thread about the overloaded file extension:
Sometimes the sketchup plugin for stl exports will have issues adding the .stl tag. Go back to your model and re export, change the name to something and make sure to add .stl as part of your file name. This usually helps.
You also may have selected “export selected geometry only” and didn’t have anything selected. I use this to export single parts at a time from model. Either select the part to export or uncheck the box
Thanks for all the help. I added the .stl ending to my file name and unchecked selected “export selected geometry only” Then exported stl to Kisslice and it worked.
Thanks
