I have been working on my setup for a few weeks now, but it’s not quite photogenic yet.

Pretty normal laptop and external monitor here in Camp Quarantine.

But a little work project going on. We’re designing new lock controller boards for all of 7-11’s drop safes.

Doing a bit of experimenting to determine proper smoke insertion levels in the components.

The Christmas Tree option set with two desktops, personal laptop and work laptop all active simultaneously with keyboard and mouse input being routed through a separate USB switch.

During the workday I allocate three logical displays to the work laptop and one to the personal desktop (which for lack of the monitor’s ability to act as 3 logical screens requires 3 inputs from the work laptop). After the workday ends it’s a single 4K display for my desktop.

I find the USB power supply rather handy since phones and headsets can run down during the day.

UPS’s for everything important so I can delay the dreaded trip to the office in case of power loss.

Longer term I’d like to build a custom desk that has inbuilt power / UPS’ed outlets, USB power, cable management, standing height, with the monitor mounted to the wall. Also need to wire up the house so I’m not playing musical chairs on the router’s 4 ports.

Full disclosure : I’ve been set up for WFH for some time with the only real prep I did for COVID-19 shelter-in-place being new batteries for one UPS so it would actually work again and the procurement of a USB3 to HDMI adapter so I could replicate the 3 displays I have at the office.

Nice Product placement on the computer screen!

Love it! Is that a mechanical keyboard? If so, what switches? I tried mechanical keyboard for a bit, but the long travel was a bit much. So I put O-rings on, but then it didn’t feel right when bottoming out.

Also what monitor is that? I’m in the market

Nuclear Oscar on both would have been confusing so I went with the first alt image available.

Yes, mechanical. Logitech G610. Not sure on the switches but it’s certainly not Model M loud.

LG 43UD79-B - it’s enormous. My main gripes are that I do wish it could mange one 3840x1080 + two 1920x1080 logical displays, that the USB port was more than USB3 (and thus could better manage moving display data), and that it had more DisplayPort ports.

I don’t know how to grab a pic of the device that I would normally use to grab a pic of the thing that is my primary WFH station, so I used someone else’s…

Foreground Apple MacBook Pro in my lap, ipadmini to lower left, Amazon Firestick on TV in background, sewing setup on table to left of tv. Additional sewing stuff on foot of bed.

The DMS Expansion effort has not been affected. Here is my AutoCAD workstation at home. I am still working on the Engineering drawings that are required by our contractors and building permits. Watching TV in the background plus my HP Pavilion laptop computer that is driving two additional displays. The laptop may not be a super fast graphics machine, but is fast enough for AutoCAD 2D drawings. My color 11x17 printer is located behind me, the plotter is in the next room. I’ve got all the tools I need.

Both monitors are on gas pistons, desk is an electric sit/stand. Cat bed has a webcam so when I’m streaming I have my “cat cam”

My workstation build is in the right half of the desk, my firewall in the left half, and a work laptop floater for my internal stuff.

EDIT: also right sidecar has enough batteries to run my workstation all day in an outage, a Unifi switch (more throughout the home), and an APC monitored PDU so I can remotely switch things on/off.

So my jewelry workstation has moved to a table by the couch for basic stuff (still have to be at my desk for beaded things). Yeah, and that glass in forefront this evening is Angel’s Envy :innocent:

My husband is working from home

Here’s two pics of him that were taken days apart. Notice any patterns?

Yeah. Ethel’s training of him is going well.

What do you typically stream? You must be way more organized than me with everything you do. Kitty is cute though.

good lord

also, what keyboard is that and what monitor is on the left (assuming it isn’t curved)?

typically Overwatch though recently been Doom Eternal; don’t do it for viewers, I do it to get extra loot. Half the time I don’t even have sound on. When I stream I have an overlay of my cat in the frame via the CAT CAM (trademark).

Das Ultimate, cherry blue switches, no lettering

some Acer 2k 144Hz. Don’t know the model off the top of my head. It’s my work monitor / aux when I need it.

Just moved my office around to allow for more work from homeness and easier streaming of our online d&d games.

Desk is unusually clean because I had to attempt to slow the bending that is happening to the Ikea “cardboard” that makes up my desktop
