Attended @Squishy mushroom class a little over a month ago and today I harvested my first mushroom! He does all the heavy lifting and you just build your bag during class.This is the few classes at the space where you can eat your project at the end. 10/10 super informative and fascinating class!

Beautiful flush! If you’re ready to try a full grow on your own, I am ready to help any time! I just got some new cultures this week and I have inoculated grain spawn and agar plates. I’m more than happy to share any of my collected cultures for free with anyone who wants to get into the hobby.
Also, with the recent weather conditions, it’s the PERFECT time to place blocks outside. Don’t worry if they get rained on, they love it!

Finished another counted cross stitch project. I love how this one turned out. I got the pattern from Aliton Embroidery on Etsy. 14 colors of DMC floss to make this. It took me just over 21 hours, most spent in doctors’ offices. It is proof that I am willing to stab something thousands of times.

Hi everyone. Currently working on a few projects, but some of you may have seen me working on a very large copper Tesla Coil toroid. I finished the Tesla Coil and was able to test it successfully. Here are some stills from a video showing the 30” arcs from the vertical electrode. I estimate its output at between 400-600 kV.
This device and others will be featured in an upcoming fundraiser/exhibition for our nonprofit, The Science Place Foundation. We are also working on even bigger Tesla Coils and other devices, and can always use more help, so please reach out if you have High Voltage or Tesla Coil experience!

Greetings from the sewing room. These are some deceptively simple looking fabric ornaments made for the Makerspace table at the upcoming Santa-in-the-Square. The list of ingredients includes 2 different fabrics, 2 rounds of interfacing, 2 kinds of ribbon and a snowflake made out of 2” cotton lace and iridescent bead, and of course the Babylock Zest. Thank you Amelia and Emily for the hand needlework assist. 20 in all + 2 on the tree in the lobby. Fabric ornaments are great because they are unbreakable if pulled off the tree or dropped, they last a long time, and you can decorate the whole tree out of a shoe box full of ornaments. Come out and see them at the Makerspace table 6 Dec at Old Town Carrollton Square.
