Hey everyone, I am a new member from Knoxville Tennessee, and I used to be a deputy metalworking czar for Knox Makers, similar to a vice chair for you guys.
I also was very involved with the organization in general and I want to pour the same passion I had for Knox makers into DMS now that I am a little more settled into the area.
I have a few ideas I would like to bring up the first being a proposal for an open hack night and/or show and share night.
What we would do during our show, and share nights is, we would have people bring in their projects that they have worked on, successes and failures, and talk about it, what they have discovered, their process and etc.
It was a great opportunity to mingle and meet other people and get help on their projects. We also took the opportunity to open our doors to the public and offer help with their projects from those willing to give help.
I guess first of all would anyone be interested in a open show and share event during the week and would anyone come to it? If so, we can start with that before opening the shop to the public per se, and I am more than happy to lead the way on this but also wanted to get a general feel for what other people might think about it.
