I don’t get on talk every day and didn’t see the post about the closure until Tuesday evening, which is fine as I wasn’t sure when I’d be back up anyway. But I was curious, should I have gotten a email notifying me about the closure? I’m not sure if I have something set up wrong in my profile or if one wasn’t sent out so I wanted to check. Don’t want to miss future communications about reopening/voting/etc.
@hon1nbo said that they cancelled classes for two weeks … but the calendar shows all the classes as still scheduled.
@Team_Calendar … is there some way to fix that?
This was a mistake on my part, cancelled just for one week for the time being and will re-evaluate as things develop.
As for an email, this was very short notice and a bulk email system had not been setup for this particular event. If we just blasted it without planning our domain would start being perma-canned as spam and kill future communications capability. Setting up something proper for this type of event has come on the radar and is being looked into

Can we get a banner at the top of calendar.dallasmakerspace.org 1 liner that says COVID19 closure. I’d even be ok with the dreaded markup

Updated with the same text used in the wiki. It’s a local change made on the server, so it’ll get wiped out anytime we push new code (infrequent), but it was the fastest way to deploy something.

A nit, but I’d say “temporarily closed until further notice” to make it clearer that we fully intend to reopen.
Both on the Calendar, the Wiki, the home page, and anywhere else we have that notice up.

A blink tag is needed, Sir.
Gawd it took me 20 tries to get that to post. I guess we can’t use blink tags. It’s not the 1900s anymore!

You have to use CSS Animation to now recreate the tag.
