The new Sherline bench top Mill and Lathes are in and and we are developing the course materials right now. Now to get those nasty training requirements out of the way.
There will be a class on Tuesday, 5-30-2017 at 7:00PM~9:30PM, 6 spaces.
There will be a Day Maker class Wednesday 5-31-2017 at 11:00~2:30, 6 Spaces
There will be a class on Wednesday 5-31-2017 at 7:00~9:30PM
If you aren’t quite ready to take a class on the larger machines, these are an excellent chance to machine your smaller project on a user friendly machine using plastics or metal. Great mini-machinist projects, jewelry, or art projects. Or as practice before going into Heavy Metal.
There is a $5 materials fee as each student will be provided a 1" x 2" x 4" block of 6061 Aluminum bar stock start your first project or just to practice on.
There will shortly be posted some courses for Sherline lathes.
Note to our 16 and 17 year old add-on members. You may take this class concurrently with a parent or guardian or if the parent or guardian has completed the class. This is an exception to the Machine Shop Rule that powered machines may only be used by members 18 or older. A 16 or 17 year old that completes these requirements may use the machine unattended by a parent or guardian.
