Sherline CNC Mill Training Request

I don’t see any training on the calendar. Is anyone available to teach this tool?

We don’t have a Sherline CNC mill.

Gotcha. Only the lathe is cnc-ready then?

Yes. But I don’t know its status. I’m not sure it’s running and we’ve discussed getting rid of it Perhaps someone else can chime in here.

EDIT: If your CNC milling needs are light, and you can do it without cutting fluid, you may be able to use the Shapeoko XXL for it. I was able to do that with some brass. Admittedly, holding the part is challenging.

And the Shapeoko XXL is usually taught by @jphelps . Most classes tend to be at request. We don’t have or encourage professional teachers, so most of us are teaching in between our jobs and other committments.

@John_Marlow There is a low profile vice (harbor freight but it works) on the Shapeoko 2 in Woodshop. It’s hanging on the side of the cart.
