Hello, I am trying to machine a small piece on the Shapeoko CNC machine.
As I am trying to finish my project this weekend 9/17/23, I probably won’t have time to complete the required training. I would be very grateful if one of you can help me.
I need to cut these 2 lightning bolts out of ash, and mill the slot in the middle. All of the features should be able to be accomplished with a 1/16 in end mill.
I am decently familiar with cam from an internship but I don’t have access to the Cam program I learned on anymore. If there is a recommended program I can try to have the gcode ready before hand.
Thank you in advance for considering helping and I hope to be able to do this the proper way in the future.

The small Shapeoko is capable of using a conversational programming mode called Easel (free from Inventables.com). Easel can import a (vectorized) svg file and then you can just specify the material and cutting depths. We have Inkscape on the Jump Server and you can draw your svg file on that. If you can draw your svg file ahead of time that’s most of what the Shapeoko will need.
If u join us at 7:00 on Thurs in the woodshop and bring your drawing in a .SVG, .png, or jpg file, overall dimensions in a simple drawing, and your wood, we will try and help
