How much does the serger knife trim off of the outside of the seam? I looked in the manual, but it isn’t listed there.

I think it depends on the width/type of overlock employed. Five thread sergers that will put down chain stitch seam to the left and an overlock to the left are obviously a wider distance than a three-thread overlock.

It’s adjustable, from roughly 1/8 to 1/4" on most machines. There’s usually a knob on the side of a machine to set the width
