I am trying to update (the structure of) the Tool Status Board. Once the structure is updated, then we can all keep the actual status updated. I have a draft list, and I’d like feedback.
The objective of the Tool Status board is to provide a central place where members can see whether a specific tool is functioning or not, before they come out to The Space to use it. It should contain only things that we could envision could be “down” at some point (or could run out of CA-supplied consumables).
It is manually updated by anyone and everyone who discovers that a tool is not working (or newly working ) It does not replace the ticket system; it is merely a reporting tool. It is also not the inventory list of all our toys; that is the Tools Section of the Wiki.
Here’s my draft list:
5 gal Pressure Chamber (Is there anything on this likely to break?
5 gal vacuum chamber w/ pump
Airbrush with compressor
Dye Sublimation Heat Press
Dye Sublimation Ricoh Printer
Epson 7880 Wide Format Color Printer
Laminator (Included only because CA provides the consumables)
Babylock CNC Embroidery Machine
Pfaff Heavy Duty / Leather sewing machine
REX heavy duty walking foot sewing machine
Serger (Brother)
Shapeoko 2
Vinyl Cutter
(late addition: Vacuformer - 10" capacity)
DELETE
Epson 2200 Color Printer
HP 36in Draft Printer
Notice that I have not included the Janome Sewing Machines. With five of them, the odds are low that all of them would be inoperable at the same time.
I’m glad to add them to the wiki. Just PM me with pictures, lists, descriptions … whatever you think is appropriate. In some cases it might be appropriate to group some things and list them as a collection of tools.
I’ll try to do that when I’m there next Tuesday. Planned to this past one but had too many things happening. Yes, we have a few major tools, then some tools better for grouping. TIA
I think the pressure pot we got is like 5 gallon. At any rate the vacuum pot and pressure pots have about two gallons difference in volume, vacuum is maybe three. But it is noticeably smaller.
The Pfaffen Beast is heavy duty by today’s standards, but the Pfaff 130 we have was just the basic Teutonic _Zuhause (_home) Panzer model. But your name name is accurate in today’s terms.
