Seeking Electical Engineer for 4S Li-ion Battery Management System (BMS/USB-C) Design

Hello Makerspace community,

I’m looking for an electrical engineer experienced in battery management systems or power electronics to help with a rechargeable 4-cell (4S) lithium-ion battery setup for a product I’m developing.

I need someone familiar with:
CC/CV charging
Per-cell balancing
Protection circuitry
USB-C PD negotiation
Integrating BMS modules into compact hardware

An NDA will be required before sharing details, and I’d appreciate examples of past work or similar projects you’ve contributed to.

Compensation I’m financing this project independently, so I’m looking for someone who can work with me in a budget-conscious, milestone-based way. This is paid consulting, but I’m also hoping to collaborate with someone who’s interested in being part of a meaningful product. If we’re a good fit, I’m happy to offer future paid work, referrals, and recognition for your contribution.

If this sounds like a match, please reply here or message me directly.

Thank you, Erica

Hello Erica,

This reference design might help for the USB-PD portion: PMP41115 reference design | TI.com

For the per cell charge balancing, you can use a battery monitor like this: BQ76905 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com

If you need a battery fuel gauge, you can use a part like this: BQ40Z50-R2 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com

(I’m not familiar with battery monitors or battery guages. There may be a better choice out there)
