I have acquired several medical medicine dispensing systems from a government auction and am curious about how viable one would be as a secure dispensing system for general consumables, parts, components, etc. I remember once upon a time when we had a vending machine set up with a similar function. These are OmniCell G4 cabinets. One is a full height cabinet that has it’s own computer with fingerprint scanner. It is new/unused old stock from a VA hospital. If a particular committee is interested please let me know. I am willing donate it with the hope that it will be put to good use.
Which cabinet versions do you have?
I’ve been exploring the idea of a vending machine for woodshop consumables. I don’t know if this exactly fits the bill but it sounds like an interesting possibility.

All I know so far is that they are G4, need software updates and have been stored at least 4 or 5 years.

Thanks. Glancing around online it looks like the G4 series has a stack of small medicine drawers or various size cabinets. I’m curious which one(s) you got.

What I THINK I have is one standalone full height cabinet, complete with computer console, then two more half height cabinets with computer consoles and three half height slave cabinets that would k d connect to a master half height. Im only interested in donating the full height unit.

Looks like the cabinets are configurable with lots of various setups. Assuming they work and infrastructure thinks we could figure out how to integrate them into our system, I’m very interested for woodshop.

I dont know if there is a place I could park it but I’m literally driving them in from El Paso right now and headed straight DMS to work on an unrelated project…

Thats great @themitch22! Yeah I bought these thinking I would keep one for a movie prop but once I saw them (and LIFTED them) I decided best thing to do is donate thr big one and see if I can sell the others. The slave units were literally unwrapped for ke in order to fit them in to the trailer, so i know they’re 100% new. One of the half units appears to be used and the full unit appears new, still has plastic over the monitor and the shelves are bundled.

I have not brought it yet but I can arrange to as long as I know it has an approved place to land.

A member of the woodworking committee had expressed an interest in it but I’m.not sure how serious the interest level is.
