Screen Printing with specialty inks class

We’ve scheduled a class for November 3 to go over the use of two types of specialty inks: Discharge and clear. Discharge inks remove the dye from a cotton t-shirt similarly to bleach (but without damaging the fibers of the fabric), and clear inks create a tone on tone effect.

The class will have a max of 10 attendees, with a $8 material fee that covers the cost of the inks and t-shirt that will have a unique DMS logo printed on it as part of the class.

Will participants need to have any screen printing experience?

Its not required, but highly recommended. We will be assuming prior knowledge of the proper use of DMS equipment (flash dryer, exposure unit, scoop coater, etc) as well as basic techniques in the use of plastisol inks, water based inks, scoop-coating/exposing/washing out of screens, etc.

Basically, be prepared to hit the ground running, as we are not going to be retreading over ground already covered by the Screenprinting Basics (Paper and T-shirts/Totes) and Making Screens classes. All of those classes are being offered in the next month, and we will be offering the Specialty Inks class again after those classes are finished.
