Ryobi Battery Pack Rebuild

I know we had an informal workshop pre-pandemic to rebuild some of the dead batteries for the Ryobi tools. Does anyone know if we will be doing that again sometime? No biggie, but its something I wouldn’t mind learning as I have a couple of dead ones here at home.

Barring that I could watch some videos, but I prefer hands on, plus helping the space is nice.

Are they really dead or are they low enough voltage that the charger won’t recognize them any more?

My DeWalt and my Canon EOS batteries did that. A quick 15 second connection to a good battery brought them up enough for the charger to “see” them and charge them. 3 years later and the DeWalt is still working fine… And 2 months, the Canon is working fine.

Good question, but i have no idea how to use a multi meter.

I’ve got some 40V packs that likely need rebuilding.

We have the tools in electronics to weld the batteries in place… are the battery packs screwed together of welded/glued together?
