RichAuto A15 - Any CNC Router Experts?

I’m getting an “Error A-axis.” when trying to load a software update on my RichAuto CNC Router controller. All the stepper motors and controllers seem to be working correctly, anyone have any idea what the error might mean?

Backstory:

Samantha and I bought a large 3000mm x 1500mm pre-owned CNC Router. It runs on three phase, and it took us a while to get it set up. By the time I did get power run, etc., the controller had lost it’s memory. I did some internet research and found a pkg file and loaded it in.

Everything seemed to be working fine but I couldn’t seem to get it to switch spindles (it has three). After much head scratching I finally got someone at RichAuto to respond (Chinese company) and we figured out that I’d loaded the wrong firmware, and sent me a new pkg file.

Unfortunately the machine won’t load the file… it begins to, and then I get the error message above. No response from RichAuto after a week.

On previous CNC machines I’ve owned, A axis has been for a lathe, (which I don’t have on this machine) and I’ve heard of A being the opposite side of Y on machines that have a Servo on both ends of the gantry (The stepper drivers are labeled Y1 and Y2 on this machine).

I remember responding to Samantha about your multimedia issue. I found the basic schematics for the machine, I’m not quite sure how that controller works. Usually there are machine parameters stored on the controller, maybe its accessible to disable the A axis or what it thinks that drive is.

have you looked here?

Yes, that’s one of the sites I’ve searched.

Update: I disconnected the controller from the machine and connected to a PC via USB, eliminating the possibility of a machine error.

Problem still exists.

Contacted the manufacturer of the machine and got the reply “Why did you upgrade the software?”

:rofl:

Responded with “Because software wasn’t loading.”, and am waiting for a reply again.

…:::sigh:::…
