Great video on some cutting-edge stuff at Bell Labs (in the late 60’s).
Love it ~ Thanks for sharing!
The closing scene made me want to play robotron though! haha…

Cool. By coincidence, I just started what looks to be a great book about bell labs: The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation. I can’t seem to get enough of this genre.
1st digital camera prototype - heard interview with Steve Sasson yesterday…really cool! 1975, then Kodak sat on it…

Flashbacks to elementary through HS in the 60’s. I’ve heard that guy’s voice a lot. Bell Labs did a lot 16mm movies for science classes: Our Mister Sun, Hemo the Magnificent, and a load of others. They combined the narrator, a scientist (usually Dr. Baxter Bell Labs Science Series, some goob writer asking questions, animation … pretty cutting edge at the time.
Of course TV had Watch Mister Wizard who always had something weird brewing in his apartment. If watched today and someone acted like that he’d get locked up as pedophile for luring kids into his apartment to show them things "every Saturday morning a neighbor boy or girl would come to visit. yeah right, young kids, experiments on days they don’t have school, alone in his apartment, that or my suspicion is he was running a meth lab and all the educational/hobbyist stuff was a cover.
