Please CA, buy the Vacuum table for casting PLEASE.
Wouldn’t that table be more appropriate for Foundry or perhaps Jewelry?
Only if we can find a decent way to melt metal and do burnouts within an enclosed/ventilated/restricted area. Otherwise, no.
Lots of things can be used for various areas. I have never done any vacuum casting
Err… We can melt metal. We have a foundry with three crucibles that we’ve used on several occasions to melt aluminum, and it should handle bronze and brass as well…
Doing burnouts has been discussed, talk with the ceramics guys for possible details.
This is what I think of when I think “burnout”
which, if done properly, I suppose, can be considered “Creative Art”…
Despite this philosophical difference, I’m in favor of the referenced type of burnout anyway. It’s probably cheaper…
This is the type of unit I am looking at for vacuum degassing mold rubbers and resins.
I am not familiar with the vacuum table but it looks like it might have dual functions for vacuum casting metal and degassing resin which would be double benefit.
One of the tables is similar to the table @L_Becker uses in her class.
I called him about a couple things Jewelry/Small Metals could use but they already sold. As of now, we do not have any room for casting equipment. Great post, thanks Caireen!
I’d tell Nicole to go for it since your asked so nice … but: sorry, no room at the inn. Also, this would be better suited for a Jewelry/Foundry co-buy … they could have it straddle the boundary line!
We currently adopting enough equipment as it is!
My friend Sue was by there after noon and the lady mentioned that she had not listed or had just found a small belt sander. It had been used a couple of time, and it still has it’s box.
She didn’t see a lot either, I think she was hoping for a jewelry bench for me and a small kiln.
