Quick update:
The emergency repair turned out to be minor (thank Goodness!); and, has been completed. The laser is functional again; however, it remains “down for maintenance” while @Romeo_Espana gives it a good thorough (and much needed) cleaning. Thanks Romeo! (and anyone who pitched in to help him tonight! 
)
We will post again once it’s brought back online for use.

“We did an abreviated alignment after we moved it back. So… if someone wants to check it in the morning that would be great.”
I want to thank @Romeo_Espana, @william_petefish, and anyone else who helped, for getting the laser up and running so quick; then continued to work on it for several hours to do a deep cleaning on it! Y’all rock!
Official Status?
It functions, it’s clean, tho it may need some fine tuning - so you are welcome to use it, as long as you are aware that the results may not be optimal…
AND if anyone on the Laser Maintenance crew is available in the morning, it would be most awesome (and appreciated!) if you could stop by in the morning (or at your earliest convenience) and do some testing n tweaking to fully optmize it! /hint hint nudge nudge

Was able to cut 5mm underlayment at 50% speed with no problem.
