It’s an actual starter. It has a built in overload.
Also it’s in, I believe a Nema 4 enclosure.

Awesome awesome awesome! Thanks for getting that back to right and I know im just kinda watching you fix the scroll saw but I also appreciate kind helping me understand what’s wrong and how to diagnose it
@yashsedai @TBJK That is a work of art, WELL DONE. Y’all are awesome. I’m really glad it was just the switch, I was horrified for a bit that I fried the motor or something. Fortunately there are more competent fixers of things at the makerspace who can resolve the big stuff.
On a brighter note, though - this switch seems wayyyy more bulletproof, and seems like the days of “oh god did someone slap the button please don’t do that it might break” are behind us!
