Resin Printer ProTip

I casually read this tip on Reddit and tried it, and it has been a game changer for removing supports, It is such a good tip I felt I had to share it with community.

This is my new process flow for cleaning and removing supports, once you try this will never go back.

After print is completed

  1. Rinse in alcohol or whatever to remove uncured resin.

  2. Wash your print in very hot water, hold it in sink while very hot water is running on the tips of supports, the plastic will get soft and the supports will fall off with almost zero force, it also greatly reduces scarring and breaks.

  1. UV cure

I also do this, but it works better for me if I do it after curing. I heat a beaker of water to very hot but not boiling, plunge the print in for a few seconds and remove it, and it just pops off the supports.

FWIW, I do not do this to castable wax resin; it seems to soften the wax.

Cool idea!

Which cooking preset works the best? Baked Potato? Popcorn? :b

Do you run the magnetron when you cure?

I unplugged it, I use the circuit the oven light to turn on the leds, its perfect cause you can set the time and it has a turntable.

I set 99:99 min in microwave usually, but I don’t really have a reason to.
