Rename Committee_chairs category to "Committee Announcements"

I think we should rename the category from Committee_chairs category to “Committee Announcements”

What do the committee chairs think? Anyone want to weigh in?

I favor the idea

I like the the category name change concept.

But I would suggest still keeping a chairs distribution list for PM’s where the chairs are discussing issues. I think this supports on-going more candid discussions among the chairs on issues of relevance to them - that they can take back to their committees. I think this supports the efforts to develop chairs and internal governance.

Then lets create a private category for chairs, vice chairs and board members.
We can call it “Chair Chat”

Then when you are forming a new agenda item, you can have a place to run it by the chairs before releasing in the wild.

OK, based on @TLAR’s input that the body of committee chairs was for this, I’ve made the change.

I’d like to remind all the committee chairs, vice-chairs, and Board that you are the only ones with privileges to post in this category. Because you have privileges in this category, it’s easy to forget that these are intended as announcements only. Please create a separate post in the relevant committee category if you need to discuss the announcement.

No need to worry. SOMEONE will hate the announcement no matter what it is and will start a thread somewhere. At least this way the message isn’t lost in the bulk of the debates.
