I remember that, not only did I turn off my computers. I also unplugged all of them after resetting the internal clocks back to 1989.

We decided that we were going to have a LAN party and play most of the night … It was funny when as we were counting down … someone turned out all the lights like the power went out … haha

I spent that night camped out in a Dallas parking lot on generator power with my own food, medical, and self defense supplies, fully self sufficient. I was prepared.

Of course, that’s what I did every month. I was a First Saturday computer sale vendor.

The City of Mesquite decided that traffic lights might stop working and people weren’t smart enough not to crash into each other, so they bought stop signs and posts for every signaled intersection in the city. They also installed signpost bases at all those intersections. You can still see those trip hazards around Mesquite.
