F1 announced last week that they will be offering something called F1 TV Pro starting early in the 2018 season. Live streaming of all the races in 4 languages, plus GP2 and some of the other series. The Pro version gets continuous in car feeds from all 20 cars each race.

Perfect timing for me if they get it to work. DirecTV has gone stupid on pricing, so I’m preparing to unsubscribe. F1 was one of the things I was going to miss. Looks like not so much now. $8-$12 a month seems reasonable enough to me.

I can’t imagine they’ll generate enough unique content to justify $12 a month to watch what has become the second most boring motorsport behind only Formula E.

On a related note, MotorTrend On Demand has conversely proven to be entirely worth the $5 monthly subscription. Would recommend.

Your milage may vary.

If you don’t enjoy F1, by all means DON’T WATCH IT.

But thanks for taking the time to tell me somethng I enjoy greatly is not worth my time. Most excellent.

I didn’t say anything about your time. I said it wouldn’t justify spending $12 on it. That’s a personal statement, from me, about me. Kindly feel persecuted somewhere else please.

Persecuted ? Not at all.

Somewhat irritated at the constant negative trend on the forums the last couple of years - yes.

But, back on topic:

I was quite pleased to see it was only going to be $12. Nothing is cheap in F1. I was figuring on twice that amount.

Beats the heck out of maintaining DirecTV to watch the races.

I’ll totally grant that $12 is cheap for anything with F1 licensing, and not having DirecTV is invariably a better deal than having DirecTV.

If I got it in writing that my $12 a month would guarantee I get to watch Hamilton get some comeuppance, I’d take it, but as long as he’s driving that Mercedes, I think I’ll leave it in favor of Senna era reruns.

DirecTV has been a good deal for me for 20+ years. They just went stupid though. Just as I was pondering cutting cords…

I really hope Ferrari and Red Bull have had productive off seasons. Having a fight up front every race would be fun.
