Recommendations for grease brand/type for inside a steering rack’s boots/bellows

Yes I feel dumb not being able to find this info on the web, but…

2011 Tundra 4x4 Crewcab

What grease would you use in the bellows on the steering rack? Lithium based or moly based? Any reason for one over the other?

I think when I’ve done a rack rebuild or de-power we’ve just used standard wheel bearing grease. But you’d want to use the same (or similar) to what Toyota used new to avoid incompatabiilty.

Most racks use a general purpose grease.
The rack itself gets the grease - the rack boots do not get “filled” with grease. The boots just keep dust, dirt, moisture, contaminants, etc out - but they are never filled with grease (same applies to axle boots).
