That’s pretty cool! I remember seeing something similar a few years ago - a 3d printed lens mount that worked with the pi camera board.

Still… 12 megapixels is what my ‘beater’ Pentax KX has.

The resolution is a moot point if the glass isn’t good enough. Also bigger pixel sites mean better dynamic range and low light performance. This is why the Google Pixel phone cameras perform so much better than the high megapixel competition. Importance of the size of the pixel site is underestimated by consumers. All consumers seem to look at is megapixels.

Quality of the Optics also plays a big part.
