Raspberry pi arcade - class wanted

@skyspook Could we do a class like this??

Possibly fabricate the arcade on the CNC or laser, then put to use the soldering skills you taught today?

Thanks!

I’ll take a look what’s out there – if anybody else has done something similar I’m all ears

I was thinking about something like this yesterday. I’d like to make my own full-size stand up old school video arcade game machine. I’m hoping everything exists today to use modern displays, microprocessors, and controls and that it’s possible to get emulated versions of the classic 80s video games like Defender, Galaga, Joust, Asteroids, etc. Is that a correct assumption? Would be very interested in learning more. Thanks!

Something I saw on instructables:

Instead of running on a full PC, a raspberry pi running retropie instead…

Perfect! Thanks much, @prshannon! Exactly the kind of thing I want to do.

@rablack97 has done fantastic arcades. If you look up some his projects in the past it will give you great examples. They put the real full sized arcades to shame.

@rablack97 do you use a raspberry pi setup, or a dedicated PC for your arcades? Also, have you put on a class before??
Thanks,
Patrick

He uses PCs
