Every automotive shop is required to have one of these
for exactly this reason, but if we’ve never worked somewhere that taught us about it, we often don’t know.
Even those of us who know, often think it’ll never happen to us (and for most of us, most of the time, we’re right) or that “this little bit won’t do it” or other excuses for mishandling oily waste. But it just takes that once to really ruin some stuff. Oil in the kitchen can be just as bad as oil in the garage or woodshed…

That was an interesting video. I’d heard about spontaneous combustion, but did not know about the specific conditions or products. Thanks for the education.

I know spontaneous combustion can happen… I have friends that their shop burnt down because of it… keep safety in mind folks…
