That would be cool, but would we need a more robust chassis for the cars to take the head on pounding of hitting each other? A DMS real world Rocket League would be awesome. PS super addicted to this game.
You could buy some soccer ballsā¦

forgive me, I donāt know how to figure scale, but, these are about 1/4 the size of a normal soccer ball. Does that make it 1:4 scale? Never have been able to get the hang of that, which is very sad because itās a pretty simple conceptā¦
Anyway, I thought some ātoyā soccer balls (arenāt they all?) might give a better game since theyād be squishier than 3d printed.
Dicks sells āsize 1ā, which is about 1/2 the size of a ārealā ball at about 5" diameterā¦
Those mini soccer balls are perfect! Now we need to get some mini soccer goals.
The āLa Petiteā would be a bit big, but that might be good. considering the difficulty of the gameā¦

EDIT: actually, these @ 2.5ā might be good, and 2 with a bag are only 40bux as compared to 40 apiece for the La Petitesā¦

Otherwise, looks like making them might be the way to go. Iād probably 3d print the poles, and get one of those mesh bags for washing things from the dollar store for the nettingā¦
Thatās where I got this idea was Rocket Legue, I couldnāt find much info about anyone else doing R/C car soccer. I know itās hard enough driving a rocket car in a game, let alone a R/C car with way too much power.
@David_Walker I think we could make the goals out of PVC, of course @jast idea is probably better , and a rubber kickball. Iām sure we could add metal cage bumpers around the RC cars to protect them.
We could have a solenoid kicker to jump the cars, and maybe have model A rocket motors that could be triggered.
This is the closest I have found to the idea we are trying to doā¦ of course our cars are much bigger.
What could possibly go wrongā¦
Thrust vector was off!
Not to mention, have you thought about all those burned ankles from the other drivers standing around the soccer field (i.e. parking lot perimeter)?
I canāt get it, and Iām not sure if this is the stuff you guys are using, but if you got anyone in Ft. Worth, some free ātrackāā¦

Wishing there was, like, a āmultiple likeā buttonā¦
Thatās freakinā sweet!
I have a feeling that this R/C Soccer Game idea is going to take off and become a big hit in the DFW hobby community.
Guys, there are too many people planning to do some other big R/C event tomorrow (i.e. the Banana Grand Opening). Not enough people will show up at DMS and help setup the track, so we are taking tomorrow, August 1, as a day off from racing at DMS.
The 4-session workshop is now officially on the calendar. If you plan to go to this workshop (whether itās just for knowledge, or to actually build your car) please click on the Meetup.com links below and RSVP for each of the 4 workshop sessions:

New RC toy just hit the market (actually ETA in US is Sept. 15). This looks like it will be a blast in the DMS parking lot!
I wonder how it handles counterbalance, Iām guessing a servo moves the āridersā weight and they dampen the steering fork. I"m not sure what the side balancing tuning arms do.
It looks like some new high temperature records will be set this next weekend.
