My Uncle and Cousin would like to make a wooden radiator cover for a house, what type of wood and/or other things should they be concerned about?

Make sure the wood you use is dry. If the wood contains moisture, it may move and crack from the drying heat of the radiator. That’s the only caution I have.
Type of wood shouldn’t matter. It’s not under any load.

Thank you brother!!!
Outgassing of paint, assume they will fully cure%dry outside the non latex paint. I cant recommend latex next to a heat source
