Quilt Pieces Plus Extra Fabric

I happened to be in CA when a lovely gentleman named Aaron (praying I spelled it right) brought in an unfinished quilt and some extra fabric as a donation. It is currently on top of the sewing cabinet, in the clear tub of free fabrics. If someone wants it it is fair game, but it seemed like it might be a bad idea to put it on the donation shelf in the workshop as it might get ruined.
I am happy to move it elsewhere if it doesn’t get claimed in the next few days. I will for sure be back on Tuesday evening.

It looks like the quilt is several separate pieces. Is that correct?

I can tell you first hand that quilts are a labor of love. I would certainly hate for something like that to be less than appreciated. Thanks for saving it!

I was thinking about teaching a basic quilt block piecing class, if there is interest (although part of that depends on whether the Sewing SIG is also interested because I’ve asked CA to buy some 1/4" guide feet and I didn’t ask the Sewing SIG yet. My bad.) Anyway, this is two different versions of the simple block I propose we would build in the class in order to learn basic piecing skills (using different not-yet-selected fabrics).

So when I saw those quilt pieces, already quilted up, I immediately thought it would be a good opportunity to teach a class on how to bind a quilt (i.e., I would volunteer, if there is any interest in that sort of thing …)

Unless someone else wants it. Like I said - quilts are a labor of love. If someone loves those pieces, then they should have first dibs so the work the originator put into them is truly appreciated.

There are a few single squares and few that have been joined together, so they would be great to snag for a binding class if you’re wanting to teach it. There are also a good few pieces already cut and tucked inside a magazine.
I would probably take a basic block piecing class,
