One of the new members (not sure if he’s a DMS member to be honest) talked about his interest in building armor and asked about access to beverly shears. Do we have them at the space?
As far as I know we do not. If it’s there it’s hidden. But Beverly shears are pretty big & require to be mounted.
Do you think we have enough interest to get one?
I have brought it up before. I’d like to see them but I can’t say for others.

Metal shop needs some kind of shears, so expect metal shop workers in there if CA mounts some up. Or maybe Metals shop should get a set, and CA folks could wander into MetalShop…

I’m not entirely sure where we could put some at this point. If it’s an issue of cost I would see if CA members would be willing to chip in to help buy it.
As Metal Shop becomes more organized on floor space and their new sheet metal tools, maybe if this is something CA wants and Metal Shop wants, CA could contribute towards their purchase by Metal Shop to get a shear or an upgraded better model. We all get something we want and need. It really isn’t suited for installation in a carpeted area.
I think there are many cases where a tool is desired by multiple committees and could go together to get better tools. We’re all “Free Range” Makers that graze in various committee fields to get work done.
