Would it be useful for all the Committee heads to meet together some time to discuss our space and equipment allocation needs?
I cant do this till after Sept. 9th as I will be out of town. If you want to do it after that, I will attend.
I suggest we also wait until after the Sep. 12th open house party to submit our proposals.
So I have 2.5 weeks to implement as much of my idea as I can
Nick,
Agreed on that for both logistical AND potential morale reasons. We don’t want visitors /upcoming new members exposed to unnecessary bad vibes unconsciously.

And I as well. I think automotive is too big. Really only need the one bay… Brandon be considerate.
Will start by trying to clear out the old paint room, which is currently an 80 sq ft junk pile. Should I move old broken compressor off site or try to sell it?
I would like to meet but please try to tell me ASAP. I agree after the 12th is best for me.
I’m currently having the layout (so thankful for that) printed out by our architecture teacher. I’m going to try out some different ideas and get the architecture and interior design teachers imput as well. See if different brains can think of different ideas. I like this type of puzzle.
I also think it would be healthy to get together on a regular rhythm just so we can talk/collaborate and get to know each other a bit more.
I’m even down for a little makerspace retreat! Come on people lets do this! A long weekend. Water, fire pit, kayaks, and forced bonding time!

I was thinking either install it as a buffer tank on the sandblaster. or trash it.
You are welcome to sell it though.
But consider it released to whoever needs it or trash it.
The motor for it is sitting on the floor by the South Bend lathe (I think)
Agreed we are overdue for a meeting of the Committee Knights of the Round Table. Food, drink, fun, news of the realm. Perhaps quarterly or semi-annually?
After the 12th. Preferably on a weekend…
Considering our schedules, I would imagine it would be difficult to find a time, place and price suitable for all the Committee heads. As for the San Marcos River Cabin you listed, its first available weekend is October 17. I do like the idea of a retreat, though maybe not for this particular meeting. In fact, I would like to schedule a camping trip and some field trips for DMS. I’m a long-time member of various hiking and camping groups, and I’ve hiked and camped all over Texas and parts of New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas. I wrote the original Wikipedia entry for Jacob’s Well based on one of my group trips (to Jacob’s Well).
For this meeting, I’m thinking that we might set aside two hours to discuss our hopes and plans for our committees, the space we think we would need, the ideas we have for the Space and what tools we have and would like to obtain. I’d like for us to find ways of working together and help each other with their problems and challenges. We might also discuss how we reach our members; I don’t have a handle on Hangouts.
As for a meeting I will be paddling on the Sept 18-20(Austin Bat Watch) and Oct 9-11(Village Creek OK) so the meeting would need to be some other time.
PS Pic from last trip I did in NM.
Sounds like a winner.
Would it be ok if I brought my little man along? He will probably just play minecraft. I don’t have a sitter that will just do two hours and the little likes Makerspace.
As long as you don’t mind him I’m in. Be honest if you have objections -he’s 5.
If he’s willing and not afraid of me (and you trust me), I can watch him in the CA room so you can concentrate on the issues at hand.
You are so kind. He loves you! You are fabulous!! Thank you for your help today. It looks good but not perfect and many more great things will come.
Love the periscope on the U-Boat he was making out of the empty boxes … he was sad to see it scuttled in the dumpster when you had to leave!
