Printing on Plastic

I have considered the Shapeoko as an option for cutting the PVC. It’s a definite fallback plan. The biggest concern I have with that approach is that I don’t own an inkjet printer! I switched to laser printers years ago. Still, it’s a viable path.

If I am going to apply stickers, I could simply continue with the pre-cut adhesive vinyl letters and apply those. This is, in fact, my plan for the two prototype modules.

Last night, however, I found this discussion. I think this will give me a better solution for producing several sets at once. I could possibly even switch to a white/natural delrin sheet and only paint black to be etched away.

You could also print the negative area as black on white plastic. And it would LOOK like white letters on black background. For example, these are some designs I did for a white luggage tag:

I considered that, but at the volumes I need, the costs for printing will skyrocket.
