Homer Hickam, author of “Rocket Boys” (“October Sky”) and former NASA engineer, passed along the following event, that I thought might inspire some ideas at DMS:
“For this Valentine’s “Pour Your Heart Out” event, guests get to carve their own design into a 4-inch-square sand and resin mold. The Sloss metal sculptors fill the molds with molten iron from a 75-pound coke-fired furnace. Once cooled, the tiles become three-dimensional expressions of love and the ultimate in scrap iron upcycling.”
