The Dallas Camera Club is looking for a location to hold a full day of hands-on educational workshops on a Saturday this spring. This would require 6-8 hours of dedicated use for several rooms. The particulars have not yet been worked out in terms of admission, open to the public, open to members etc etc etc and is very much open to negotiation. I think the first step (presuming there’s interest at DMS to get involved at all) would be to schedule a meeting at the space with the President of DCC, myself and a representative from the PR committee and who else? I’m not sure who all would be involved with a decision at DMS for something like this.
I can handle putting everything together I just need to see who should be involved on the DMS end and that there’s interest to do so.
Thanks!

I think it is a great idea.
Would you send the email you sent me to the board email please?
How big would the audience be is my question as well?
I think depending on the answer we might do it for a minimum charge too.
Thanks,
Steve.

I posted it to the PR talk group so it should already be out there in that
regard. I can see about adding the board “topic” if that’s the thing to
do…
DCC has a membership of around 150 people and I suspect that 2/3rds or more
might attend. Add to that DMS members and then wether or not we open it to
the public. I think opening it to the public may be something to try in
version 2. DCC has done one of these so far but on a smaller members-only
scale and we’re looking to grow it. So, not growing too much too fast is
desirable.
What if any to charge and other money issues is a topic better handled when
we can involve the President at DCC.
It should not be an issue and there would not be a charge as long as there not charging if they do charge it’s 15% fee for DMS members and 25% for non DMS members
