I loved having that available, could it be arranged again? I know I’ll be wanting a sheet or two in the next month or so…
Second this. I’ve purchased sheets in the past. Very helpful, as I don’t have a truck to bring them to the space myself.

I think @Infrastructure_Team or @Logistics_Team (never can keep them straight) may have been doing the supply/funding/bookkeeping.
Vaguely remember the sign saying make payments out to the Laser committee…
Think it just was pay to laser because they have a cash box that accepts envelopes to be labeled with what the payment is for.

Logistics did something like this many months back for 3 purposes: CNC workshop tables, personal storage, and spec sales. The CNC workshop tables never really happened, roughly half was consumed in order to build new personal storage, and the other half was spooled out over many months on spec. It took so long (and tied up nearly a months’ worth of allocation) that we eventually got finance to agree to assume the remaining liability to free up funding for routine Logistics operations. As such, Logistics has no interest in stocking plywood for members’ consumption.
Speaking to Andrew Zalakat (whose talk handle I cannot locate), I gather that woodshop is preparing an order for another project; coincidentally, Logistics needs to build more personal storage Soon™ and I agreed to 10x sheets of everyone’s favorite Baltic Birch in addition to whatever woodshop wants. Logistics is a rider on the order at this point, but in my unsolicited opinion DMS should only offer additional sheets on a group buy basis to committed buyers.

for what it’s worth…
I cut a sheet of 3/4" cabinet grade plywood into a top for a workbench and have 2 big pieces left. I’ll bring them on Thursday evening if someone wants them for free.
I’m happy to pre pay for a sheet or two if there are plans in the near future to make a purchase.
I’m a fan of having it available for purchase at the space as it requires a bit less planning to start a project, but also understand that logistically it may not be possible.
Same here, I’ll prepay for a sheet if needed.
I think the administrative overhead was more than anticipated. It was very difficult to track the funding and purchases of the sheets. Initially it appeared as though almost all of the sheets were stolen but in the end I think only one of ten were unaccounted for (enough to make it break even but that’s it). It’s unlikely this kind of thing will happen again in the future due to the aforementioned reasons. If individual members want to collaborate on a delivery that could be another thing.

Update: I have a truck now and am volunteering for occasional order pickups from Dakota Premium Hardwoods. Prices seem reasonable, and they have discounted rates specifically for DMS members.
Additionally, I stopped by today and they also said they will deliver for free with a $300 minimum order, so there’s that option as well.
