I signed up two new members today and the question was asked if there would be a problem with having a transmission delivered to the Space. Was hoping someone could answer this.
We do not generally allow deliveries like that (actually, we generally don’t allow member deliveries at all, even if smaller parts).
The member must be there to sign for it, they must have a storage spot already, etc.
Logistics wise it’s too complicated for the space to usually allow.
Best bet is to email admin@ and ask for special permission, especially for something large/heavy like a transmission, but off hand in guessing it’ll be a no.
We 100% make no guarantee that anything delivered will be handled properly/safely, and won’t walk off.
Fine if they don’t mind donating a transmission to some rando that takes it home. I have seen bigger things walk off.

To Lampy’s point, on shipments to DMS it’s pot luck that…
- Someone will be there to accept the shipment
… AND … - Said item is properly received and secured
… AND … - Recipient is notified
… thus it’s a Bad Plan™ to ship things to DMS outside of the rules.
To build on your point … we don’t have a loading dock. Anything has to be delivered on a lift gate truck.

I’m in agreement with all the above but wanted to mention to Chirs that the loading dock in 104 has an adjustable ramp and we’re keeping it clear in all the expansion plans because it’s the only one we have; the loading dock in 102 is not adjustable.
