Peachy Printer - v.1.0 Final Hardware!

Check out the newest update!

I have to say, I am really excited for how this has turned out. If these are the prints they’re getting already when the software isn’t even finished, I’ll consider it $100 well spent. Open source and designed to be easily hackable to boot, so likely a lot of improvements can be made still.

It’s even starting to look cool (betting than a jumbled mess of laser cut acrylic and loose wires, anyway)

Kewlness! Any idea when it will ship? I can hardly wait to see 'em in action!

Last I’ve heard it’ll probably be Sep/Oct when we receive them, but they haven’t given a specific ship date yet. I’ll be interested to see just how easily replicateable the kits are (its largely laser-cut acrylic and a circuit board).

Does it still use a saline drip for the z-axis? I wonder what that canteen thing is. I definitely want to see it in it’s final form.

It’s base form still does, yes, though I suspect that’s one of the first things I’m going to try to hack away (or augment). There has been various issues that seem to stem from the surface tension of the resin not always flowing over the printed parts in a new layer. I’m thinking of instead using a geared motor to slowly depress a block into the second reservoir to raise the water with displacement. If the two parts are hydraulically linked through the bottom, I don’t think it would disturb the surface and would allow me to raise and lower the resin level more accurately. I’m really happy they switched to a digital circuit and are offering some I/O pins, that’ll make this particular switch a LOT easier.
