I’m sure you understand that VW doesn’t use anything close to a PDK transmission in their cars. Just because they own Porsche doesn’t mean they can justify the expense of all their technology in their cars, which are at the bottom of the food chain. Not all dual-clutch designs are equal.
I think this is the point being made in this thread. The DCTs being sold in the US for mainstream cars were terrible implementations of the concept.
Before smartphones with touchscreens happened, texting via numeric keypad without looking at the phone was also possible in an MT.
