Parking Debacle

To whomever owns the VW…

I don’t care for an apology nor do I want to know who, just don’t let it happen again.

Hard to see, is the debacle blocking the high dock?

I think it’s the car in the foreground parked in the invisible parking spot =P

Yeah, they performed a maneuver commonly called “ICEing” or parking an Internal Combustion Engine car in a EV Charging spot. It is akin to blocking a gas pump, and just as rude.

I love that acronym, is work on multiple levels. I can already imagine a video of a of a guy in a full hockey ref outfit including skates walking around giving penalties to normal people. I think we should definitely do this.

If this happens frequently it would be helpful to have painted diagonal lines in that area so it’s more obvious. I’ve almost parked there a dozen times thinking there’s one more space left right by the door (which of course there isn’t).

In the dark, it’s difficult to see anything over there. The last time I parked back there, I just guessed where I thought a parking spot was.

Which brings up the point that ops needs to install some lighting out back.

Exterior lighting might actually be up to the landlord. Or at least require approval from the landlord. Often exterior modification require some discussion. @Brandon_Green maybe start a thread under ops and it might just get handled.

Correct. We don’t have the right to install lighting outdoors or paint the parking lot. That is up to the landlord, and I doubt they’d spend money on something that isn’t required.

The landlord may not spend the money, but will they give permission for DMS to install some lighting?

Considering how many of us park out back and considering how wonky those back steps are, could we phrase getting better exterior lighting as a safety issue? Because it is.

True, I actually tripped on the first stair the last time I went in that way because it was so dark.

I’m currently waiting to hear back from the landlord about the lighting.
