Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, hopefully not. There is a painting immediately to left of main entrance door, fluid work maybe using acid dye paints? I’m not entirely sure of the technical term(s), just trying to use best descriptors I can think of. I didn’t get a chance to peek to see if it was signed but looking for the individual that did it?
In the front lobby?
I’m pretty sure that’s what they mean. I saw it there too and admired it.
that work is by @LeeCJones. It certainly should have a plaque honoring it. His creativity continues to grow.
Yes, front lobby.
I agree! There are a few artists I follow on Instagram who create this style of paintings/art. I’ve never seen in person before but much more beautiful than on a screen!
@LeeCJones, if you ever got the urge to teach a class on this style of painting I’m 100% in!
@LeeCJones, awesome work! I agree with @BarkingChicken, if you ever teach a class, I would be in too! Definitely fascinated with this more fluid style even IF I don’t have almost any artistic bones in my body
It was fun to watch Lee make his art
Thank you for the kind words on the painting. I am in the process of relocating back to Oregon after three and a half years of working in Irving at my day job and more importantly learning and creating at Dallas Maker Space (DMS). My experiences working with the talented folks at DMS have been life changing and I am building a large studio at my home in Oregon to continue making here. In the coming months I will be in Dallas finishing my move and will be around DMS on occasion.
With respect to the paining in the entry, it was done with a pendulum. I collaborated with Tom Cook there at DMS on the design of the pendulum and we had many hours of fun creating with it. He can provide you with info on the pendulum so you could build one should you desire.
I wish you the best of luck on your move and future endeavors! You certainly have talent and if you have an Instagram or Facebook for your studio, I’d love to follow!
You are discussing the large interesting geometric painting on the wall but there is another painting, free form and abstract that was leaning against the wall by the door yesterday. Was that what the original question was about?
Okay, so yes. I’ve seen the one and love the one on the wall but this particular topic I was referring to the one that’s on the ground and leaning against the wall (mostly blues). Opened the thread in CA in hopes that likely someone here knew.
Okay. I love the geometric wall painting too but I wonder if that beautiful blue painting is a work by our president?
Looks like alcohol inks to me
It may very well be. I am not good at describing colors, knowing paints, techniques, nada. Heh. There was no signature that I saw on the back when I checked this morning.
Will somebody please move this away from the door? Rain is back in the forecast starting Saturday evening.
Ahhhh…
Many of us were talking about Lee’s piece. This brilliant thing on the wall:
@Bill
I’ll move it.
That’s by Tom Cook.
