Paid Commission: Need CNC Woodshop & Vacuum Former help for a custom mold

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to commission a member for a two-part project to create a custom concrete stepping stone mold. I need an Alabama state shape cut on the CNC, followed by a vacuum form pull.

The Details:

The Shape: The state of Alabama, roughly 12" x 8".

The Buck (CNC): Needs to be 1.5 inches thick with a proper draft angle so the plastic will release after cooling. I need the operator to supply and prep the MDF for this. (If you have 3/4" scrap laying around that you can quickly glue and clamp into a 1.5" block, that is perfect!).

The Mold (Vacuum Former): Pulling a thick plastic shell over the finished buck on the Formech machine.

Materials:

I will purchase and bring the required ABS plastic sheet (likely from Allied Plastics—let me know what thickness/dimensions you prefer for your machine).

I am happy to pay your rate for the machine time, your labor, and the scrap MDF used for the buck. If you’re certified on both machines and interested in knocking this out, please let me know what you would charge!

My email is [email protected]

This sounds like an interesting project. I could possibly help out with the CNC work. I am not familiar with the vacuum former machine. Do you have any pictures or references for what you are going for?
