Packaging & Maintenance Tech
Summary/Objective
The Packaging & Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties across both our Packaging and Maintenance Teams. Depending on the day or the week, you would be tasked to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment. Or, you would be responsible for working on the bottling and canning lines to package beer according to company quality and safety standards.

Essential Functions - Packaging
• Understands and adheres to safety standards
• Keep bottling & canning area clean
• Fill in on packaging line as needed
• Operate De-palletizer
• Pulling beers off of line & putting into cases
• Stacking cases on pallets and pallets in cooler

Essential Functions - Maintenance
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Proactively suggest and find ways to improve processes with safety and efficiency
• Be a self-starter, always finding something productive to do
• Working well with team-mates, and having a positive attitude; focuses on solutions, not problems

Knowledge and Skills
• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
• Obsessive attention to detail
• Passion for the brewing process and beer
• Ability to lift 55 pounds repeatedly
• Forklift certified
• Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check
• Proper use of PPE

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job: Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and move 165 lb. kegs of beer. Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend repeatedly throughout shift.
