Outside Storage Removal

Hey folks, as always, storage around the outside of the building of any type is prohibited, this includes any and all wood, projects or pallets.

I’ll be throwing all of it away after the picnic this Saturday.

I assume you mean around the building :stuck_out_tongue: I’m still storing stuff outside the building at home.

Old coffee tables are hazardous and hard on the equipment anyway.

Fixed it

@extralanyap You said you knew some people storing wood outside?

I want to see someone turn an old coffee table into a pallet…

ill have my chainsaw with me on sunday. I can cut the tree thats there and put anything interesting on the wood shelf and either toss or make firewood out of the rest. I think Jeff Courtman will be there as well but we could probably use a hand if anyone will be around. Ill be there about 8:30am

OK I can delay the removal until you guys have had a chance to get it handled usefully.

If there will be pieces large enough to support an anvil please involve @Team_Blacksmithing . It is my understanding they are always in need of stumps.

Are you throwing away, cars, tables and all that as well? Woodshop members feel like your not consistent and targeting them again.

It’s going to take a pretty impressive sawzall to fit a car in the dumpster.

Yes I have a rules change that I’m going to try to propose that limits the project vehicles stored at DMS. Right now our parking rules are not good for anyone.

What do you mean about tables?

I think he means the table outside the dock door.

Oh that’ll be removed too. Nothing outside is the goal.

Parking issues
 - DISCUSSION
   - Robert: We have a problem with vehicles. It is affecting our lease

This policy takes effect July 1.
   - Stan Simmons: Our back door neighbor has had his door blocked.
   - Pearce Dunlap: There are a lot of vehicles that do not move and are near
     the doors.
   - Merissa Green: Who will police this?
   - Cairenn Day: Part of being excellent is not to park in front of
     neighbor's doors.
   - Bill: Can we get a map showing where not to park?
 - MOTION: "Beginning July 1, we will request the towing of vehicles left more
than 48 hours without further notice at owner's expense."
   - Proposed: David

   - Motion passed unanimously.

Simply enforcing the existing rule, would be an excellent first step in resolving the problem. Since our lease prohibits overnight parking, there’s really no difference between a vehicle owned by DMS, by a member, or a derelict.

I’ve done it. Sawzall and a circular saw. Pieces just have to be small enough for the bulk pickup guys to be able to lift.

But later we found out they flagged our house as a chop shop

I’m guessing that lead to some unwanted attention or follow up visits.

The outside to the south of the ramp is cleaned up.

If you drop trash (including sawdust) please clean it up so that it doesn’t collect in the corners and harden into a festering pile.
