All gone, thank y’all
I may be making more in the future maybe mid-late summer for fall and winter veggie crops and in the fall for fall planting- the best time to plant trees, perennials and wildflower seeds.
What’s a bag’s shelf life if stored “in a cool dry place”?
I would say maybe a few days to a week, but get a $5 red wiggler container from petsmart and throw them in there. They won’t multiply fast but they will eat on what’s in there and put fresh casting throughout the bag.(instant vermicompost bin)hit it with a little fish hydrolysate, seaweed and rain water to feed the microbes and keep it going for up to a month.
That’s for the microbial life, but the compost and nutrients will still be in the blend even if you let it dry up. If you have to store it, you could just try to keep it at the “brownie mix” moisture. There won’t be as much microbial life as they eat the food that is available in the mix, but if you put worms in there and give them food, air and non chlorinated water you could keep it going until you need to use it or seperate and split into more bins.
