So in the Creative Arts Meeting I heard we are talking about doing shirts for the open house. So I figured if the shirt hasn’t already been decided on I would submit an idea. Hope the group doesn’t hate it.
Have a good one,
Nick

I like it (both figuratively and literally)!
BTW, while we are at it, can I suggest a pocket t-shirt? They are very handy for holding things like pencils/pens to write things (like email addresses and phone number, post-it notes, to write on), and DMS business cards. Very helpful…
I prefer having a pocket for my shirt, but pockets on t-shirts don’t hold up so well. That’s one reason I usually don’t wear just a t-shirt.
First, I want to say I appreciate the design, but @macapaka has already helped us with a design for the shirt with input from several people. In the future please join the PR meetings to make sure there are no duplication of efforts. In the future we want to have another general T shirt competition so please be on the look out for that.
We chose the blue to stand out from a crowd. We also wanted to list all the different areas of the space to help explain what the makerspace is. We also wanted that blue to be theme that matches the cards (which will be printed shortly)
Hope there are no hard feelings and would appreciate more art work from you in the future.
@AlexRhodes, I have no hard feelings, I was playing around this morning and just through something together. Glad you guys are on the ball and already have a design. Sorry I missed the PR meetings recently, as a long time PR committee member I stopped following PR when they lost their direction. Excited to see it coming back and being productive again. Not into the contests, they feel a lot like work and DMS isn’t work for me (if I can help it).
Can’t wait to see the shirts and please No Pocket Tees. We can all wear pants/shorts with pockets. #pocket_tee_haters_unite.
OK, I concede. If Nick doesn’t like pocket t-shirts, then clearly no one should be allowed to wear them nor should they even be considered as an option for those that might want/like them
I think this ostracizing and discriminating against Pro-Pocket believers with an outright intolerant ban may put our 503 (c) status at peril as well as a schism not seen since the likes of Martin Luther posted 95 Theses in October of 1517. E.g. Pockets are a “reasonable accommodation” for those of us that wear glass and need a safe place to put them.
Having said that, being person of girth, I hope larger sizes will be available.
These shirts are for volunteers helping out the day of the open house. Each committee chair was contacted to co ordinate volunteers for that day. These will not be available to all members. If you help out in a committee please speak to that chair.
At the CA meeting on Monday, I’ll be doing several demo’s during the day. I’ll talk to Nicole.
Thanks - Looking forward o helping make this a success!
David
