They own most of their buildings outright, and they probably aren’t easy to sell in normal times. So I suspect sitting empty they are bleeding cash much more slowly than when they were open, and slow enough that waiting for more normal times may see a decent increase in what they sell for.

Or they may figure out some new concept to try.

Your right Kevin. They(family) do own the buildings. This is kinda similarly to McDonalds, no matter how the business does, they still make money on the property.

I’ve seen suggestions that McDonalds is actually a real estate investing company that just lowers the carrying costs by selling burgers. Though they do it to a point it is a second profit center.
