Hey All!
Not sure if this is exactly space related but wanted to see if I had any interested parties. A few colleagues and I currently run a creative business that handles audio recording, post production, and design.
Our current office space isn’t working out for us, and we are having a hell of a time trying to find something more suitable for what we do. I was wondering if there are any current space members who might have some leads on open spaces for leasing? Or potentially have a space they might be willing to offer.
We would mostly be looking for a good recording and prototyping space for some of our projects. We also do a lot of video/audio editing.
Like I said, I’m not sure if this is DMS General specific but I figured there may be some interested parties here.
Thanks!

A little more of basic requirements would help:
- General location or a radius from a given point.
- Approximate minimum space required
- Any minimum dimensions such as ceiling height of width (office vs light industrial/warehouse
- Is open space that you can build a studio in: control room and recording room, what you are looking for.
- Any especial power requirements (prototyping) 220V, 208V, o rSingle or 3 phase needed.
This will help if we see something. Good luck.

We’re currently in the Addison area, but could probably look around in Carrollton.
-I think at a minimum we need around 700sqft and about 10-12 feet high.
-We need space for computer desks / we’ll build our own recording booth and control station room (we made our own separate room at our current location)
-No huge power needs, we would mostly be making apparel for our brand and new controllers for our interactive con experience that we do in-between jobs
Hope that helps!

there is a space that i see down 635, somewhere between I35 and I75
Please keep in mind that the City of Carrollton has one of the most strict Building Codes in the area. If you plan to build a recording room with sound absorbent walls, the Fire Marshall will insist that all construction materials are UL Fire rated. The Dallas Makerspace is in Carrollton and the Fire Marshall made us remove a lot of unrated sound absorbent materials throughout our complex. If our building was located across the road in the jurisdiction of Farmers Branch, we would not have had such a problem with the City. Carrollton may not be the area you want to look at.

There is a building at Webb Chapel and 635 that has a huge banner across it advertising “band jam rooms”. From google it looks like its address is 2964 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas, TX. The building is pretty beat up and is probably class c office space, but because of that you might be able to get a solid deal on it + get a relatively short term lease. If you’re looking for ‘recording space’ it’s probably worth reaching out to them and seeing if they would allow that sort of build out. (From looking at it on gmaps it looks like there is already a recording studio company operating out of the building, “Platinum Music Complex”)
