Yea, Baby!
Disagree.
That’s a good beginning.
It’s not even on wheels. Picture that in Tansey Blinding Green ™, that thing would require PlasmaCam glasses to approach.
can you just see that as a roll-around? Mind that bus. What bus? splat.
I have always wanted to take one of these beverage trailers & convert it to carry tools. Not sure why, other than I hate not having access to my tools when I need them. It’s not exactly practical.
Wow, these could be converted into something like an RV - only 5 Weekly Maker Apartments!
Now there is an idea. Convert it, Have it in a spot close to the space. Then rent out rooms for folks that get tired & dont want to go home yet. Nap mobile. Lol
If someone tries to tow it away, just move it! Don’t worry about the people inside!
Mobile 6. We’ll leave the lights on.
If only we had something to tow it with…
Yet another reason for a pick-up.
No,
We just buy trailers that we can’t move.
We buy tools we can’t move too. How are you going to move the HAAS, bridgeport, multicam, etc without a members truck
The HAAS is intended to stay in one location. I think you meant to say we also buy vehicles we can’t move, example the Space Bus.
I’m not sure the future tenants of suite 104 will enjoy the HAAS like we do
This is an irrational and trolling position to take, we can of course hire movers the once every 5+ years we actually move the HAAS when we change locations. We do not require equipment capable of moving the machine on hand at all times. Is this the same position you are taking with the truck you are suggesting?
I was simply joking because the topic of this thread is toolboxes with ladders and stuffing people in the back of a beer truck…
Haas and Multicam I believe were moved by riggers. Bridgeport we can mover as it can be lifted with a sling (we’ve done it).
Machine Shop intends to replace HAAS when we move so no rigging fees for that. So won’t need to worry about this.
Looking at this Tormach, with everything, Including 8" tilting 4th axis, is $25K. Even old Haas VF2’s are getting $10K-$12K.
Machine Shop is saving towards this and is long term capital equipment goal., so we’ve got about 20 months lead time, going to be saving for this for when we move.
…deep into a project and don’t want to take it home. We can rent the storage. Wanna get your stuff? Pay your fees! and follow us on twitter.
It’ll pay off in no time with the impending demise of off-siting and/or member storage…
I’ve now got visions of automatic slide-out drawers in each bay with automagically deploying ladders to get into the upper levels… I need better skills and more time and more money and a truck and one of theses trailers and…
