Bringing bug infested wood into DMS! And Storing next too slabs… come move your wood! It’s pressure treated and it not allowed in the space…
Leaving projects on tables because you don’t want to unload table! No okay! Or because you’re trying to save your spot! Tables aren’t for project storage!
Leave tables open for other members to come in and work on there projects… we have a limited number of Spots to work on!
There will be a clean up today and your stuff Might get tossed in the dumpster!
I’m only being pedantic because I’ve been actually yelled at in the workshop for this before.
Pressure treated may not be allowed in the woodshop, but logistics, who handles the work area and tables, has no such rule. There is no DMS-wide ban on pressure treated lumber.
My apologies. The wooden chest is mine. I’ve been up at the space working on it everyday this week. I will also be there later today to continue working on it after my in laws get back from a memorial service.
I’m at the space 40+ hours each week working on various projects for myself, assisting other members, and projects for DMS. Aside from my item, the other pictures listed are relatively new. We shouldn’t be making threats to trash someone’s projects no matter the situation. We should always be seeking to find their owner and addressing the situation so that it can be a learning experience not a scolding one.
If only people would listen. Count on them NOT listening. Frankly, the only thing that makes a point is disposing of it in the dumpster. I promise you they abide by the rules wihen this is done.
Or immediate suspension of all storage privileges for some period of time for the first infraction, a suspension of membership for some period of time for second/additional infractions, applied on a zero-tolerance basis.
For all sorts of reasons, I’d hope we could avoid this in all but the most extreme of cases/situations.
This situation is little different from leaving cars overnight, especially project or non-working cars. It should be handled the same way, more or less.
Well there are laws that protect vehicle owners. While their vehicle may be towed, it must be towed to a known location with adequate notice and contact information provided, etc. We can’t just roll a car into the lake.
I realize you aren’t saying otherwise and agree: there needs to be a fair process for handling this. We currently have a lot of unused space that could serve as on-site purgatory.
